Discover Pelion! The Thessalian Mountain of Pelion is the place where Olympian Gods used to have their vacations which is located between the Aegean Sea and Pagasitikou kolpou. The dense vegetation with endless sea in the background makes up mythical scenery, a place famous in ancient times. At this location titanomachy took place and in Pelion forests Centaurs used to live, most popular of whom being Xeironas. Some of his pupils were Hercules, Achilles, Jason and Asklipios. Using the wood material of these forests, the Argonautes constructed the boat of Argo which was dedicated to Poseidon and set off to discover unknown countries spreading Hellenism there. Today Pelion consists of 24 villages. Some of them are perched in the dense vegetation while others embrace the Aegean Sea.
